D’Arcy secures funds for sheltered housing

I am delighted to announce the allocation of a significant grant from the Dept of Environment for €667,000 for the construction and fit out of 6 sheltered housing units in Kilanerin. The Kilanerin Ballyfad Community Development Association (KBCDA) had applied for funding for a number of years but to no avail. However, with funds unspent in the Capital Assistance Scheme, I believed that Kilanerin was perfectly placed to advance their project, that is shovel ready. There is some paperwork to be concluded between the KBCDA, Wexford Co Co and …

D'Arcy emphasises the need for innovation and efficiency, not blanket agreements in the public sector This government faces unprecedented challenges. Whilst restoring order to our public finances and regaining our economic sovereignty, we must also protect the welfare of all our society. Government launches severe winter readiness campaign
Fine Gael Senator for Wexford, Michael D'Arcy, has urged people across Wexford to make sure they are ready for any severe weather that may lie ahead in the coming months. Senator D'Arcy was speaking today (Wednesday) as the Government launched its Winter Ready Campaign.

Fine Gael Senator for Wexford Michael D'Arcy has expressed delight at the number of Sports Capital Grants for Wexford announced by the Minister of State for Sport, Michael Ring, late last night.
“Due to our current economic situation, we are unsure of the immediate future of grants of any description. While the amount of funding available for this round may not match the amounts available in the years of the Celtic Tiger, when taken in conjunction with County Council funding, they will allow real improvements to be made to local sporting f …

Cutting a funding lifeline for dozens of Co. Wexford sporting clubs and organisations is “mean spirited” and “a huge blow for sporting endeavour” according to Fine Gael TD Michael D'Arcy. Deputy D'Arcy had warned previously that the Sports Capital Grants programme was likely to be a casualty of Government cuts. It was announced on Thursday last that no funding will be allocated under the programme this year. “Sporting clubs and organisations right across Co. Wexford depend on this funding for vital development works and they wil …

CIE's decision to include the new car park at Gorey train station in its plan for pay and display parking charges at stations on the greater Dublin rail network is unjust and grossly unfair to the travelling public. So says Fine Gael Deputy Michael D'Arcy who has blasted the company's decision to make travellers pay extra for parking. “As someone who welcomed Iarnrod Eireann's plan to establish car parking facilities at Gorey station, something I've been lobbying for many years to have done, I'm dismayed and extremely disappointed to now …
